How it ought to be - A deeper look into men’s connection.

This editorial is a continuation of my previous photo project “Shared Inhibitions”, where I explored the dynamics of male connection and how we still need to normalise sensibility between friendships.

The book delves deeper into the subject with 29 new situations, and visualizations of  male friendships. The linearity of the photos is paired with the text’s content.

For the body text, I used a research paper as a source from “Noibe Way (2013). Boys’ friendships during adolescence: Intimacy, desire, and loss. Journal of Research on Adolescence, 23(2), 201–213.” This publication gives insight into societal structures regarding men’s connection to each other and how younger boys behaviour shifts during adolescence when these societal expectations and habits are forced upon them.

The book is 10x13 cm, which was cut to size and Japanese bound by me, giving
it a more intimate feel.
